Alexa Finally Releases Toolbar Add-on For Firefox
Alexa is possibly the most inaccurate website ranking site on the internet. With the release of Alex’s Firefox Toolbar Add-on (codenamed : Sparky) their rankings might become much more accurate. It would be great if you could afford to ignore your site’s Alexa Traffic Ranking, but if you plan to make money with your website, improving your Alexa Traffic Ranking is a necessary evil.
Way To Go Sparky, Alexa Is No Longer Just For Internet Explorer

Here is how Alexa.com explains Sparky:
Feature Overview
- Sparky is a free FireFox browser plugin that accompanies you as you surf, providing useful information about the sites you visit without interrupting your Web browsing.
- Learn about Web sites Traffic Trend information.
- Get detailed traffic information including Reach and Rank.
- Surf more efficiently with Related Links for each page.
The benefit they should have included on their feature overview list is that by installing the toolbar you help increase the traffic ranking of your site and every site you visit. The related links feature is a nice addition, although I really don’t need another menu selection at the top of my Firefox browser. The list of related links the toolbar returns for Passionate America is interesting. The list I am looking at includes:
- RushLimbaugh.com
- The Regular Guys
- Little Green Footballs
- Northeast Intelligence Network
- Glenn Beck
- Dustbury
- Neal Boortz
Improve Your Alexa Rank Today
Your Alexa Traffic Ranking is used by many internet advertising agency’s such as Text-Link Ads to determine ad rates for your site.
One of the best ways to improve your Alexa Traffic Ranking (besides bribing website owners to link to you) is to install the new Sparky Toolbar (Firefox users). If you are an Internet Explorer victim user, Alexa has you cover also Alexa Toolbar For Internet Explorer.

I remember when I had an Alexa Traffic Ranking around 43,000. Aaaahhh the good old days. I’m moving up right now. Up from 1,525,773 on 06/27/2007 to 1,240,269 today. That’s an increase of 285,504. Not bad. I should go up a lot by the next time Alexa ranks my site. I’m crossing my fingers.
