I have talked about this movie before on my radio program, but today is the first day I have watched it. Below is the video for America Freedom to Fascism. I agree with a lot of this movie, however there are some serious question that must be answered before taking this movie at face value. Please leave a comment about what you thought about this movie and some of the questions that you have about this movie. I would like to discuss this in a few posts over the next few months.

I just watched this, all the way thru, and I am really interested in these concepts of accountability, but I wonder WHY the link the show at the end is a dead link??

Ok I watched it, and although it raises questions they are not new this has been debated to the best of my knowledge for some 30 years with varying degrees of success and failure.
If I recall correctly the Actor Wesley Snipes is currently under indictment for tax fraud to the tune of some 20 million dollars.
Personally I have no problem with an income tax; it is the complex nature and seeming disparity of its enforcement which causes me problems. Still the video raise’s some real questions such as has it become law by default simply because of common usage?
There are several laws actually on the books that are frequently not complied with or followed only under duress, FOIA, Child Support, and Custody etc. over all it is way out of my league!

I have a huge problem with income tax. It is none of the governments business how much money someone makes. If we have to have taxes it should be the Fair Tax. I do not have a problem with paying taxes when I buy something. I will not buy it if I don’t want to pay the tax. I have an even bigger problem with the government stealing your money before you even get to cash the check.

Bill, I’m in the same boat as you, I also dislike having the money taken out of my checks. While it is normality to think of how much money you’re going to actually recieve for the labor you’ve produced for such private business, it’s absurd that you pay for putting more effort into society to enhance your own financial worth.
So let me get this straight…
You work, you pay the government.
You don’t work, you get paid.
I also do not have a problem with paying taxes on various things (listed in that movie), given it’s only taxed if you actually get the product/service/etc.
But to pay a tax on money you earn through your labor, that’s debatable.

This is an age old discussion, I agree… as time goes on, it’ll resurface simply due to new information, or somebody else’s take on the situation.
What I have trouble with, is the punishment for doing something that isn’t against the law, because the law simply doesn’t exist.
If you argue that your punishment is unjust on this basis, you’re given the cold shoulder, and basically SOL.

No, I haven’t… but that’s not the first time I’ve run across it’s title being mentioned.
I’ll see if I can’t find an ebook copy, or perhaps a copy at the local libraries.

It is a short read and is one of the best tax systems I have read to replace the IRS and the income tax.
