Another example of why Socialized Healthcare is BAD for the US
The right (hmmmmmm I wonder why we call ourselves that) has once again been vindicated in their belief that Socialized Healthcare is bad for America. A Reuter’s story CORRECTED - Canada’s once-proud public health system in crisis says,
OTTAWA, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Canada often boasts its universal health care program shows it is more caring than the United States, but the system is creaking alarmingly, with long wait lists for treatment, and shortages of cash and doctors.
I have heard stories of Canadians breaking the law by paying for medically needed MRIs at animal clinics because of the long waiting period for MRIs in the Canadian Healthcare system. You can pay to have an MRI for your dog, but you cannot pay for your own MRI in Canada.
And this is the kind of healthcare the liberals want in America?

I think the idea is that we would take the best parts of other countries’ existing national healthcare plans. In England, people can pay for private doctors and often choose to do so for specialized care.
I think doing something would be better than our current system. It is ripe with fraud, becoming less affordable every year, and does nothing for those who are self-employed or not covered through their employer.
My mother pays almost $1,000 a month for health insurance because she is self-employed. Her health insurance has a $4,000 deductible. That means she pays $16,000 a year before her insurance kicks in. You may wonder why she pays so much. My mother had a double mastectomy to treat breast cancer and continues to suffer from lymphodema as a result. If her cancer were to come back, she would need that insurance.
There has to be a better way.

We spend 7 times more per capita than Canadians on health care. If we took their system and multiplied it by 7, it would truly be the best in the world instead of the 25th.
But facts aren’t very patriotic, are they?

Why is it so hard to budget correctly and then pay for your own healthcare. Oh I know that would require a little bit of learning about money. God forbid that. Then if you do not have enough in saving then by healthcare to cover major medical, but pay for the little things yourself. I guess it is not your responsibility to pay for your own health care. Rich people should pay for your healthcare.
