Are You Smarter Than A 6th Grader?

I would call this positive news. 7 out of 11 6th graders in Ken Poppe’s classroom at Trail Ridge Middle School agree Global Warming is not man-made. Are you smarter than a 6th grader?

Humans don’t cause global warming, a jury of sixth graders at Trail Ridge Middle School concluded Thursday after hearing opposing arguments from their peers.

“They’re pretty young for this kind of thinking. They did great,” paleontology teacher Ken Poppe said after the 40-minute “trial” in his classroom.(link)

One follower of the Goreacle and a parent of one of the students questioned Poppe and expected him to spread the Gospel of Gore™:

That mother expected him to present Al Gore’s global warming movie “An Inconvenient Truth” as indisputable facts, Poppe said. After he explained his neutrality in the classroom, the mom allowed her child to participate in the debate, he said.(link)

But it is not indisputable facts. Is it safe to say that this mother is not smarter than a 6th grader?

   Wait, I am confused now. You mean that the Goracle is not the all-knowing, all seeing, un disputed smartest man on earth? But, but, he said he is? How could it be that he isn’t? After all, we all know he doesn’t lie (creating the internet comes to mind), right?
