I use every color but red. I use red on quizzes. It doesn’t matter what color I use. I am editing their papers to show them how to do it better the next time, and they think I’m tearing them apart–purple, green, blue–doesn’t matter; they take it to heart. They think (as I am sure any kid does) if they put a couple of hours into a paper that it should be an “A” regardless of the quality. (Ugh. I feel the teacher rearing her head.)
OH….happiness is getting an email from a former student thanking you for praying for him when he was “terrible.” (his words)
just wait, one of these days it will be illegal to use any color at all to grade their papers; you will have to use invisible ink and GIVE them an A (notice i said give not earn)
