On my atheist beliefs: I grew up Seventh Day Adventist and always loved going to church. I read the bible at least 13 times growing up. I also went to Southern Baptist churches for week long youth classes during the summer. Some of the best people I have ever meet are religious people so I never developed a hatred for religious people like many atheists. I never felt the need to prove my atheist beliefs were right and that religion was wrong. I still understand that I could be wrong and that there could be a god.

When my Grandfather died I prayed to god to explain to me why he had to die the way he did and I got no answer. I was 13 and decided that I would try to find the answer to things that I didn’t understand myself. So I guess I am not a complete atheist. I am more of an individual that likes to find the answers myself instead of asking for a higher power to deliver the answers for me.

I never thought that people that believed in god were stupid, they are just on a different path than I am on.

on my objectivist beliefs: I spent most of my life studying ever religion I came in contact with. Christian, Muslim, Buddhism, Scientology, Toltec Shamanism, Atheism, Science, New Age Stuff, Law Of Attraction, and Objectism. I have taken bits and pieces of each religion I have emersed myself in (except Muslim, it is an evil religion) and developed my own beliefs using some parts of each.

Objectism helped me realize that it is possible to developed a strict moral code to live by that did not have to be created using faith and emotions to determine what is right and wrong for me. I fully understand that my beliefs are not for everyone and during some parts of my spiritual journey I would not have wished my changing spiritual beliefs on anyone. It was a very tough and complex road I traveled to arrive at the personal beliefs I hold today. I’m not more evolved than people that believe in god and I know this because I understand that they could be right in their beliefs and I could be wrong. So I would say I am on a continuous journey of discovery.

Personally I believe if your faith leads you to be a better person then you are on the right path for you. That is why I respect people of religion so much. Most are trying to better themselves and the world we live in which is the same thing I am trying to do. We both have different methods, but I believe the same goal. And the other thing I really respect about religion is the moral framework that it gives for its believers. I believe right and wrong are absolutes, all things are not equal, and that tolerance for evil is not a virtue.
