Digg Conservatives Out Of The Hole

Digg.com has been heralded as the “czar of social news”, which is a more than accurate title for what is quickly becoming the social network of choice for up and coming socialists. Try and find a conservative article on any of Digg’s Top 10 lists. Don’t waste your time, you won’t find opinion from the right on on the front pages of Digg. Mob rule is their model, a revolution against reason is their goal, oh they won’t declare that openly, however with a little research this is not hard to prove. So how can conservatives bring reality to the non-reality based community?

Digg to the left

Digg.com divides submitted articles into many categories. For the purpose of this experiment go check out their Political Opinion category, I’ll wait…

Scan the submitted articles and—do what your mama told you not to do—judge a book by it’s cover. Scan the titles and count how many on the first page (Newly Popular) articles are conservative leaning. I did not count one right leaning story on the newly popular page. The sad truth is most social bookmarking sites are designed to produce this very result.

If you need proof that those on the left are more likely to be dishonest than those on the right Digg is a great place to prove this theory. Digg itself admits that Digg dishonesty is happening:

On Feb. 1, Digg acknowledged that it just might have a problem. In a post on the Digg blog, Kevin Rose, the site’s distressingly juvenile-looking founder wrote, “Since the early days of the site, we’ve known that people try to game Digg, and since the beginning, we’ve developed tools to prevent it. It’s obvious to us that this is just a normal dynamic of a growing site and is similar to what sites like Google, Yahoo and hundreds of other sites have been dealing with for years.” (link)

Digg admits “gaming” (the politically correct term for cheating) is a reality. Which group (right or left) is cheating more? Search any page on Digg and before long if you are able to use reason and logic you will be able to spot the trend that left leaning articles dominate the most dug lists. Since Digg itself admits that cheating is happening, using reason and logic, which group has the most dishonest Diggers? That is correct the left.

Digging conservatives out of the hole

So what are conservatives to do to get exposer to their stories and articles? Good question and as far as I know there is no good answer. Conservatives should not abandon Digg, cutting and running is the left’s solution to difficult problems. I suggest conservatives invade Digg and fight back.

One way to fight back if you have a WordPress blog is to add the digg IT plugin to your blog. I have added the digg IT plugin to this site and hope you will Digg this post and any other posts that you find of interest here at Passionate America. Encourage your visitors to Digg posts at your site and to Digg all conservative posts you find that should get more attention. Don’t let the left’s mob rule stratagy beat us. To win we do not have to sink to the dishonest level of the left by cheating. Fight back and lets bring rational thought back to the the front pages of Digg.com
