Don’t Pay Taxes: How to get the government to listen to us.

We need our own Boston Tea Party

Think about this question: How do we motivate our government to do their job and stop the invasion of illegal aliens. The current methods being used to voice our outrage are not really working. Letters, emails, and phone calls: do you even know if your so-called representatives are getting the message? If they are getting the thousands (more like tens of thousands) of messages why in the hell are they not listening?

The reason government is not listening to us, we are not applying the right kind of leverage. On December 16, 1773 a group of Americans gathered because they were feed up with a government that did not represent them. Their little tea party changed America forever. I propose use the greatest leverage that we have to send our representatives a message they cannot ignore.

If they can’t then we can’t

We keep hearing, we can’t build a wall on the boarder, we can’t stop illegal immigrants aliens, and we can’t roundup 12 million law breakers and send them back to their own country. We can learn a lesson from the words of our representatives, they are effectively saying they cannot do the job we elected them to do. Well if they can’t (or won’t) then it’s time to show them the consequences of their inactions. If they can’t do their jobs then we can’t do our jobs.

They will listen if we refuse to pay taxes

I can hear the critics now:

  • It’s illegal to not pay taxes
  • They will arrest you if you don’t pay your taxes
  • How do you not pay taxes? They take them out of your paycheck before we even get it.

When our government will not enforce our immigration laws, is that not also illegal? The government seems to have no problem breaking the law. If they hold our laws in such little regard then why not follow their leadership? Paying taxes are supposed to be our obligation, I believe if government expects us to fulfill our obligations then they should fulfill their obligation and protect our borders and the sovereignty of America.

I say we show them what happens when everyone decides it is acceptable to break one law.

But if we don’t pay taxes won’t they arrest us? If they say they can’t deport 12 million illegal aliens then it must also be logical that they cannot enforce tax laws. They want to give a pass to 12 million criminals so it must be acceptable in their eyes if we all break one law too. I say we show them what happens when everyone decides it is acceptable to break one law. How long do you think it will take them to spring into action once the coffers have run dry?

In 1913 the 16th Amendment to the Constitution was passed to keep just the sort of proposal that I am making from happening. The government bestowed upon themselves the legal justification to steal money from us before we even get paid. If it were as easy as not paying taxes I suspect we would have quit paying taxes in protest a long time ago. Now the government can reach it’s hands into our piggy banks and deposit an IOU before we even cash the check and put money into the piggy bank. How can we stop paying taxes? Simple, stop going to work.

Gasp!

Is that a shocking concept? Yes it is, but they can’t steal from your paycheck if there is no paycheck. On December 16, 1773 future Americans refused to pay and because of that we became and independent and free country. It is time to send a message as powerful as the Boston Tea Party. We need to organize, tell as many Americans as we can, pick a date and then all go on strike. On the date we choose do not goto work, find ways to survive and spend as little money as possible to buy only the things you really need and pay a little sales tax as you can. When our elected officials are ready to do their jobs and protect America from the illegal alien invasion, we will go back to work, not one minute sooner.

  1. It’s a great idea. However, it will only work if thousands of people all do it at the same time. Otherwise, government will kill you. Just ask Ed and Elaine Brown of Plainfield, NH.

I like the idea of an underground economy — barter services for goods. It will be very hard to pull off in today’s economy, however.

  2. I agree Ogre, I like the barter idea, I just don’t think the government would get the message. You are right this will not work unless thousands to hundreds of thousands of Americans decide that enough is enough.

  3. It is a good idea no more taxes, however, I think it will take more than hundreds of thounsands. It is going to take millions of people. And in the millions of people it needs to have America’s upper crust of people behind it also.

  4. Well sounds like we have work to do. If you agree link to this post and we can send a message that we are not going to take it anymore.

  5. Wild Bill proposes defunding US troops, Iraq War and GWOT.

[edited by Wild Bill - Billy Joe I will tolerate your troll bullshit only so much. I will not tolerate you link bating my posts. Your name above has a link to your site and I will leave it alone for now. You can disagree with me all you want, you can hate me, you can write anything you want at your site about me, but I will not promote your trolling activities. I will not ban you yet, however if you keep leaving links to posts on your website just for the sake of promoting your hatred, I will ban all of your future comments. Try adding to the discussion instead of just shamelessly promoting your hatred on the sites of the people you hate.]

  6. Billy Joe needs to reread your post Bill. I think if even people can get behind it, we can get a fair tax. Dose anyone want a fair tax?

  7. Lummpy you’re reading something into Bill’s post (fair tax) that was not mentioned anywhere.

I think YOU need to re-read it. Bill is talking about taking action to bleed the government dry to show his displeasure over their inaction on illegal immigration. It’s a valid proposal, but there are real-world consequences that such an action would entail. Did Bill think about those consequences? I doubt it, but I’m happy to help him see what those consequences are and for him to explain his preference.

    Nice try though.

  8. Dose anyone would like A fair Tax or maybe a Flat Tax?

  9. Lummpy,

This has nothing to do with what Bill is proposing, but yes, a fair tax would be nice. I’d even consider a flat tax if it didn’t lead to an explosion in the national debt. I’d even consider a national sales tax because it would encourage people to save though I don’t know how consistent (or inconsistent) the revenue stream would be. In their tax cutting frenzy, everyone seems to forget that we actually have to pay for things like the military, NASA, interstate highways, etc. We can’t charge our expenses to the Saudis and Japanese forever.

I still don’t know what Bill’s answer is to the question:

Would he abandon the troops in Iraq and the GWOT if it meant he’d be able to starve the government of funds until it created a new Berlin wall along the US-Mexico border?

  10. Billy Joe, I will not answer your straw man question. I am 100% for the Fair Tax, (I own the Fair Tax book and have read it unlike you Billy Joe) but that is for another post on another day. I just proposed an idea on a POST, this is not a BOOK or a 5000 page policy review.

Do I want to defund the troops like Billy Joe does? No, however defunding all the other wasteful government spending we be a great side effect of my proposal.

  11. Billy Joe is nothing more than a common troll.

Like Ogre said, it will take a big movement, or the individuals participating will be screwed.

  12. My argument is not a strawman argument at all. I’m simply pointing out the consequences of your proposal and asking you if they’re acceptable.

And you’re cutting-and-running from an answer.

Not feeling too courageous, are you?

  13. Billy Joe,

Would he abandon the troops in Iraq and the GWOT if it meant he’d be able to starve the government of funds until it created a new Berlin wall along the US-Mexico border?

    Straw man fallacies in bold.

  14. OK, Bill. To make your plan a reality, we would presumably have to bring the troops back before you starved the gov’t of funds. Would you do it?

  15. Why would we have to defund the Federal Gov. of things it’s supposed to do. The idea is to get the Gov to gets it’s nose out of places it doesn’t belong, like funding everything else.

Note in the Bill of Rights where it specifically says that ALL other powers not specifically annotated belong to the STATES!

    Dipshit.

  16. Correction: to the STATES or the PEOPLE.

WE THE PEOPLE have the powers not outlined as specifically belonging to FedGov.

Dumbass. The Government is supposed to fight wars and protect the border. They are NOT supposed to dole out cash to Criminal Invaders and offer them “Paths to citizenship.”

Fuck the Government… Regardless of who’s in charge.

  17. Regina

The nation had few taxes in its early history. From 1791 to 1802, the United States government was supported by internal taxes on distilled spirits, carriages, refined sugar, tobacco and snuff, property sold at auction, corporate bonds, and slaves. The high cost of the War of 1812 brought about the nation’s first sales taxes on gold, silverware, jewelry, and watches. In 1817, however, Congress did away with all internal taxes, relying on tariffs on imported goods to provide sufficient funds for running the government.

The federal government is now financed primarily by personal and corporate income taxes. While it was originally funded via tariffs upon imported goods, tariffs now represent only a minor portion of federal revenues. There are also non-tax fees to recompense agencies for services or to fill specific trust funds such as the fee placed upon airline tickets for airport expansion and air traffic control. Often the receipts intended to be placed in “trust” funds are used for other purposes, with the government posting an IOU (’I owe you’) in the form of a federal bond or other accounting instrument, then spending the money on unrelated current expenditures.

The above paragraphs were located on the world wide web. But if you couple this knowledge with the knowledge that the original tax form was one page (basically how much do you make, and times that by either 3% or 5% depending on your tax bracket, and pay that amount, thank you have a nice day) I think everyone should be able to admit that income tax laws have gotten completely out of hand in the US. We NEED to go back to a flat tax!

  18. Regina,

America wasn’t invading countries half way around the world with a high tech military 200 years ago either, I know because I read about it on Daily Kos. I want us to be the world’s policeman? Tax payers has to pay for because Iraqi oil isn’t financing it (because us liberals kept repeating war for oil until the president felt to guilty to claim the oil as America’s payment for Iraqi freedom.)

    FAIR,

Realistically, I’m not aware of anything method other than a tax boycott (or hitting the streets in massive protests) to starve the government of funds. If it was possible, don’t you think we’d already have an option on our tax forms indicating whether or not you wanted your money to go to wars, border fences, public television, killing babies or a new generation of nuclear warheads?

So I like it in the rear end, and this was an ill-conceived proposal and Bill never gave any serious thought to my proposal. I get hot when I think about Bill. I like strong men. Fine. He usually doesn’t think about me. I was interested in hearing where his priorities were because he setup a perfect collision between me and him. I guess I’m hoping against hope for a straight guy to answer my wish.

It’s interesting that what I write is called hatred (I did not think conservatives were smart enough to see it for what it really is, self hatred.) I thought I was just doling out what you guys are giving all the time. I hope you know you hurt my delicate sensibilities. I’ll try to be more sensitive to your conservative feelings in the future.

  19. william

There is no law that says we have to pay taxes.

  20. yeah I believe that also william. :ermm:

  21. Well, we would need a bigger audience than our two blogs and my radio show. Maybe we can get people to call talk radio shows with the idea? The people are already calling and talking about a revolution.

Don’t pay attention to billy joe, she has had her brain rotted by reading the daily kos POS

  22. You make a good point. No one will ever listen to small voices unless we amplify the voice.
Most of the time, we are not contented with the result generated by other people and think that we could do better.

  23. It may sound logical but the risk is not worth it if the support is insufficient. If a lot of people will participate, I am sure that the government will listen to what you have to say.

  24. That is the key for this new Boston Tea party to work Marie. A very large number of Americans will have to participate.

  25. Michelle

This is the only way. Include me in.

  26. Jai

Great Idea what do i have to do on my side of town to get the word around. I live in Maryland about 10mins from DC!!!!!!!

  27. It’s a great idea, Bill, but I just don’t see enough of the sheeple getting enough grit together to actually do it.
