Horward Dean Expects Me To Denouce Ann Coulter For Saying Faggot (video)
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting Passionate America!
I am outraged at the hateful bigoted remarks by Howard Dean. It is obvious he hates women, Republicans, and free speech. Howard YAAAEEEHHHHH Dean issued a press release filed with queer arguments.
“While Democrats and Republicans may disagree on the issues, we should all be able to agree that this kind of vile rhetoric is out of bounds. The American people want a serious, thoughtful debate of the issues,” the press release read.
Deanis then pulls out the old asinine moonbat argument:
“Republicans — including the Republican presidential candidates who shared the podium with Ann Coulter today — should denounce her hateful remarks.”
Why should I denounce her remarks? Ann Coulter’s remarks don’t have anything to do with me. I thought there was nothing negative about being gay? I guess Howard believes that peoples sexual orientation should be embarrassing. What did Ann say that has Deanis’s panties in a bunch? Here is the video of Ann Coulter’s remarks at CPAC:
I must have missed the part where Ann Coulter said she hates gay people. Misha didn’t hear what Dean is outraged about either:
“…it’s almost as if she literally stated that she hated faggots and everything they stand for“, [Dean] added, then promptly shut up as one of his handlers hit him over the head with his Gucci purse.
I decided to do something I have not done in a long time and checked out the #1 publicity ginner-upper on the internet, because I suspected I knew what she would think of what Ann Coulter said. And I was right:
Ann Coulter just finished her riff on Al Gore, tossed out some cute jokes (”You can understand why Hollywood is concerned about global warming. You know what heat does to plastic.”), and ended with a cheap one-liner about John Edwards being a “faggot.” (Paraphrasing) She said she would refrain from commenting on Edwards because “if you say faggot, you have to go to rehab.”
A smattering of laughter.
Not from this corner.
Crickets chirping.
Typical high an mighty jealousy from MM. Anytime someone gets more attention than her she throws a fit. MM has her lackey’s denouncing Coulter for her. I’m sure it will only be a matter of time before Ann Coulter is banned from MM’s sites.
It will be interesting to watch the right side of the blogosphere take sides on this. Here are the standing so far.

Bill - it isn’t about what she said, just the fact that she spoke. You see, any time a conservative speaks, no matter what we say, the libtards will ALWAYS demand we apologize for it. As for what she said, she was right on the nose. The left will scream all day that there is nothing wrong or embarassing about being gay, but when a conservative speaks about not believing that homosexuality is natural, it is embarassing, and the evil neo-con should apologize, beg forgiveness, and so on.

You can put me on the list of bloggers not denouncing what Ann Coulter said. I probably won’t blog about it either. I have more important things to do than worry about people calling each other names. More than that, I could care less that people got offended. I just don’t have time to sit around and be offended.
March 3rd, 2007 at 2:28 pmBubba
Damn… She keeps this here crap up and I may have to become an Ann Coulter supporter…
Nahhh… That ain’t a gonna happen, I cain’t stand that skinny skank, that ol gal needs some meat on her bones…
She said it fer ’shock value’, she must have a book coming out or something, needs to get folks all stirred up and this here is her way of whorin’ without givin’ up on it…
Ya know, her and that disgusting gook bitch only say shit like that fer ‘reaction’, just a tryin’ to piss off good folks and git they names in the newspaper.
Oops, did I say ‘gook bitch‘?? Sorry, I meant to say, SELL OUT gook bitch….
This here’s Bubba and I’m a gone gone… Good day!

Fmragtops has been added to the list of Republicans that don’t eat their own and throw other conservatives under the bus because it is the popular thing to do.
March 3rd, 2007 at 2:31 pmWild Bill
Wow Bubba besides all the people that are going to condemn me now you might have just added yourself to there list too.
March 3rd, 2007 at 2:34 pmWild Bill
Hang Right Politics is so mad at me for calling them cheating RINO’s they have deleted my comments and won’t link to me. They are just trying to follow the lead of their idol MM.
March 3rd, 2007 at 2:37 pmTexasFred
Hang Right Politics laid down THEIR rules when they tried to ‘fix’ the voting a while back… Screw em, they are pretty much what we all thought, hypocrites and shams… And Bill, I’m sorry, Bubba was over here working on my race car and he took a break and I caught him on my computer, and you know he never has liked Coulter, and he really hates ‘zipper heads’, as HE calls em… I’d never call Malkin a ‘zipper head’, but Ol Bubba does… But, Bubba has no refinement…

We will not get credit for using the term “homophobia”. “Homophobia” is a silly word, literally meaning “fear of sameness.” The left won’t give us credit for using this term against one of our own. And we are missing the real point. In an era when individuals can be forced into rehab because they use un-PC terms, the rest of us had better start using those terms too [in our own "I am Spartacus" moment] or the PC police will be coming after us for some other offense. The PC police can never be pacified or appeased, so they must be confronted at every opportunity.
March 3rd, 2007 at 3:36 pmBig Mo
You’re calling me a RINO because I didn’t care for Coulter’s idiocy. And you call Captain Ed a RINO too? Seriously? Check some more. John Hawkins at Right Wing News doesn’t care for it either. Neither does Hugh Hewitt. Are they RINOS?
By the way, it wasn’t me that deleted your comments. It was one of the site hosts.
I know you probably won’t believe me or won’t give a damn, but nobody at HRP cheated. Somebody DID cheat, but it wasn’t the ladies who run the site, nor was it any of the guest posters (which includes me). We never found out if it was a supporter or someone out to get us, but someone did cheat, and we took the hit and the embarrassment. It wasn’t handled well on our end, either.
But nobody at HRP cheated. If they did, I wouldn’t be there any more.
March 3rd, 2007 at 3:44 pmBig Mo
By the way, I almost never read “MM” Malkin.
March 3rd, 2007 at 3:45 pmWild Bill
Big Mo thanks for coming over and commenting. Captain Ed, John Hawkin’s are on my RINO’s denouncing Ann Coulter list. Might have to add Hugh. It is fine if you don’t like Coulter or her comments I would just like to know why we blacklist our own on the right. Don’t do the lefts work for them.
On the subject of me calling your site Rino’s and cheaters, I will concede that I’m not sure who cheated, just know who it was intended to benefit. The argument that someone might have set you up that is laughable. The only reason I still bring it up is because of how Hang Right Politics handled the situation at the time. On the subject of RINO’s republicans that give into the PC police are RINO’s in my book.
Do you denounce Ann Coulter for her comment?
March 3rd, 2007 at 3:55 pmWild Bill
Good to hear you almost never read MM. I used to until she decided to denounce me for telling the truth and breaking national news. When she writes a story about a story you broke (and even the Wall Street Journal sends a reporter across the country to report on you) but will not link to your site and makes personal attacks against you’ll know how she really is. In the case of Coulter MM doesn’t like her because she gets more face time on TV and writes better than MM.

No they didn’t, it’s #33… IP made a halfassed faggot comment add-on to it… His way of saying that people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones… I guess he thinks that folks like us don’t understand what he means when he uses that high tone verbiage…
Smoke Eater
BTW - while I do not support “eating our own”, in the case of Ann Coulter, I might “make an exception”. There, have I offended anyone now?!?!?!
March 3rd, 2007 at 4:18 pmBig Mo
Wild Bill - thanks. It’s the comment, not Coulter herself. It’s part of her schtick, I know, and it gets her attention, but she is brilliantly penetrating without such things.I’ve got a couple of her books on my shelf, and I’m pretty judicious about what I put in my library. There is no Malkin there.
Sorry for my initial rough remark. I’m a little sore about the whole webawards thing. Someone did cheat. That’s a fact. We just don’t know who. But what really gets my dander up is how all of us are branded as cheaters and that means we should be dismissed with TexasFred’s “screw ‘em.” Like I wrote, the situation was handled badly. But the site owners didn’t cheat, otherwise I wouldn’t still be there.
March 3rd, 2007 at 4:21 pmWild Bill
Thanks Big Mo for the comment.
March 3rd, 2007 at 4:23 pmShadowFox
That’s it?? That’s what this whole giant hubbub is about? I had about 10 different ways in my head that she could have used that word to start a media frenzy and that wasn’t one of them. Edit the list.
March 3rd, 2007 at 4:25 pmMark K. Sprengel
Defining me as RINO simply because I think Ann’s rhetoric went too far is a bit silly. She could have made the point much clearer and still used that word, if that term is so important to you, if she had cared more about making serious points, than grandstanding in this case.
March 3rd, 2007 at 7:05 pmWild Bill
Mark you wrote,
She did not empower the left with her comments RINO’s like you have empowered them with your denouncement of her. Why and to who should Ann apologize too? It is your problem that you believe just because someone says the word faggot that they have an attitude towards the gay community. So is the word faggot off limits now? If someone uses that word should they be labeled a homophobe? Did she say she hates faggot’s? Another example of the right destroying their own to appease the left.
March 3rd, 2007 at 7:20 pmMark K. Sprengel
You’re just putting passion ahead of common sense by continuing to label me a RINO. If you have such a hard on for the word, then by all means, go use it. But dont expect me to consider it polite or intellectually sound to throw a sound bite out there that is obviously something the opposition will use whether I or anyone else on the right thinks she should apologize.
As to apologizing, she could simply say that her point was about free speech and she could have made the point in a less offensive manner. Her original comment could have been something like - “for example - if I used the word faggot to refer to John Edwards, some would say put me in to therapy. Now, I don’t think it’s a good word to use, but this sensitivity and extreme reaction to mere words is a problem in our society.” This point could also go further into explaining how the 1st ammendment has become a protection against being offended, a very serious matter.
It takes a bit more effort to do that and isn’t as cool a bomb to throw but it’s more mature to keep the point above the easy flame throwing.
March 3rd, 2007 at 7:36 pmWild Bill
New flash the left hates us, we can’t be so afraid of saying something that they might use as a sound bite. A less offensive manner by who’s standards? Her statement was not offensive to me. Maybe next time she should have her speech pre-approved by everyone so as not to offend people that look for anything to be offended by. You don’t think an apology will be an even bigger sound bite?
March 3rd, 2007 at 8:24 pmNick
Yep, we really don’t know that Coulter hates gay people based on using the word “faggot.”
I’ll bet some of her best friends are niggers, too.
March 3rd, 2007 at 8:26 pmWild Bill
Everyone denounce Nick now he said both words, shame! :w00t:
March 3rd, 2007 at 8:29 pmMark K. Sprengel
Obviously Bill, you lack the common sense to determine common decency.
March 3rd, 2007 at 8:39 pmWild Bill
Mark maybe you should teach a class me and Ann can sign up and then we will know the exact mold we are supposed to fit.
March 3rd, 2007 at 9:12 pmMark K. Sprengel
You really don’t get it.
March 3rd, 2007 at 9:16 pmWild Bill
Mark what am I supposed to get your definition of what can and cannot be said?
March 3rd, 2007 at 9:52 pmMark K. Sprengel
That you even ask is more indication of your blinkered mentality. You simply have no concern for a reasonable discussion on this matter or are incapable of understanding points I’ve already made. Have fun with your little crusade. I have more important things to do than speak to an immature brick wall.
March 3rd, 2007 at 10:10 pmWild Bill
Mark proves my RINO theory a little more with each of his comments. “Blinkered” who talks like that? :ermm:
March 3rd, 2007 at 10:15 pmNick
Wow… let me put this another way, since my first subtle attempt went right by, and Mark has given up.
I, for one, do not “denounce” Coulter merely for uttering a particular word. Free speech, and all that.
But how can you attempt a defense of her that completely ignores the meaning behind the word? You insult your readers’ intelligence by writing, “I must have missed the part where Ann Coulter said she hates gay people.” Everyone knows exactly what “faggot” means. There is no possible way* to direct the word “faggot” at someone without conveying feelings of hatred. It’s the same as calling a black person “nigger.”
It’s not the word itself that has sane people (Dems and Reps alike) up in arms. Save the PC-police alarms for another day. It’s really about the meaning this time, and it’s quite sad that anyone defends her viewpoint as part of valid political discourse.
(*One exception. Some members of the gay community have attempted a “take back” movement and used the word in reference to each other, much as hip-hop culture has appropriated “nigger.” These movements haven’t been particularly successful at removing the hatred from the word, and in any case unless Ann intended to make a major comment on her own sexuality this case doesn’t apply to her.)
March 3rd, 2007 at 10:39 pmMe
Get a fucking clue. You can whine all you want, but if you’re seriously suggesting that the people you have in your “RINO” list are disingenuous, you’re an idiot.
But what do I know? I’m probably a “libtard” right? And you’re a REAL conservative. What a joke.
March 3rd, 2007 at 11:22 pmShadowFox
Look, I’m not going to say that what Ann said was smart or even right. But she said it because she’s Ann and that’s her thing. An let’s face it, it’s not half as bad as what the left says about Bush and Cheney every damn day. This fighting amongst ourselves serves no one but the left. Do you think they’re going to have a fit the next time Shumer says his usual bigoted, derogatory things? No. Furthermore this shitte storm is proving her poor taste joke right. She said the “f” word and now half of the right and all the left are calling for her blood.
For the record, I don’t think that Ric or Mark are RINOs either. This is getting out of hand. We can hold our own accountable but not like this.
March 4th, 2007 at 12:34 amTexasFred
Wild Bill, that dickheaded nigger loving faggot called you an idiot…
Are you gonna take that Bill?? From a RINO named ‘ME’??
And wasn’t ME a disaster for Windows?? Just askin’…
March 4th, 2007 at 4:57 pmGM Roper
Wild Bill, first, I’m a conservative, not a Republican or a RINO. Secondly, I think both Dean and Coulter are acknowledged Bomb-throwers. Thirdly and lastly, I think this whole “Say Something Stupid - Apologize” crap is just that, crap. My Take.
March 4th, 2007 at 6:10 pmWild Bill
Oh that’s it TexasFred you are no longer a Republican, I encourage everyone to write CNN and FoxNews and demand Fred never appear on their networks every again. :w00t:
GM I know you are not a RINO and some people on my list are not RINO’s. I agree the “Say Something Stupid - Apologize” crap is the stupidest thing I have heard in a while. Do some Republicans think the reason we lost the last election is because we did not apologize enough? What’s next? Will republicans demand Bush apologize for being Hitler and starting a war for oil?
March 4th, 2007 at 10:27 pmDr Zen
I’m delighted to learn that it’s not insulting to call others “faggots”. You fucking faggot!
March 5th, 2007 at 2:45 amWild Bill
Thanks Dr. Zen, and I won’t start a shit storm to have you thrown out of the republican party. Enjoy your free speech. The irony is I am sticking up for people like you to say ignorant things like you just said. You do know that when all the high and mighty righties read your comment they’ll have you flogged.
March 5th, 2007 at 6:04 amWild Bill
Sorry Dr. Zen, I just went over to your site and realized you are a trolling moonbat. I will not stick up for your right to say stupid things. You are the enemy.
March 5th, 2007 at 6:10 amConserv
My problem with Coulter is that all she cares about is generating publicity for herself, regardless of how this impacts the broader conservative movement. What she said was offensive and the faster she gets ignored by us the better. With people like Coulter, the conservative movement once again gets stereotyped as being nothing more than bigots. Coulter doesn’t care how this impacts the broader movement because she just wants to sell books.
Considering that us conservatives represent a movement of “ideas” - people like Coulter make us seem like nothing more than hate-mongers. that’s why i don’t like Coulter….
March 5th, 2007 at 6:55 amWild Bill
Broader conservative movement, are we communists and socialists. What is wrong with Coulter selling books? When was the last time Coulter or any conservative got press coverage for something good that we said?
New Flash!!!!! Conservatives are already stereotyped as being bigots and homephobes. Circle jerking the left is not going to change that. Why is it that most conservatives understand that there can be no appeasement to terrorists, but they are trying to win a popularity moral high ground contest with the left?
You are doing work for the left spreading ideas like, “Coulter makes us seem like nothing more than hate-mongers.” Coulter is Coulter, I am Wild Bill, and you are you and our individual ideologies just happen to be mostly conservative. Make sure you frighten all conservatives to the point that none are sure what they can say and what they can’t and you’ll render the entire party more impotent than it already is.
March 5th, 2007 at 8:52 amAllan Moore
If the left told the truth, the would blow up. What’s wrong with faggot? They’ve made dung out of the word gay.

If Conservatives want to be taken seriously by the general public, we must have Conservatives in the spotlight - not Extremists.
Conservatives are constantly labeled as biggots by liberals. While this is not true, as long as we keep promoting people like Coulter to the spotlight by buying her books and watching her on FoxNews, we will NEVER be able to run fast enough to get away from the biggot label.
The solution is to use our power in the Free Market and quit funding her operations. We must show these Extremists that have hijacked our party as much as the Neo-Cons have that we do not want them speaking for us.
We cannot let it be profitable for people to make Conservatives look bad. End of story.
