Michelle Malkin Throws Another Conservative Under The Bus, Welcome To The List Matt Drudge

Michelle Malkin is Unhinged again. This time she lashes out at Matt Drudge. It seems Matt Drudge doesn’t kneel at the alter of Malkin.

Transcript from Drudge’s radio show (via Hot Air):

Just ugh. The things I want to say right now. But we’ve got an FCC. The things I want to say. Maybe we’ll do, uh, uh, a commentary on the Internet like Michelle Malkin. Maybe I’ll stand in front of like a blue screen and hold a banana and start talking into the Internets. (Sneering tone) ‘This is Matt Drudge reporting on Hot Air.’ Agggh. You know. It’s ridiculous. Looks like, you know, Captain Kangaroo time, Michelle. Get real. (Hot Air has the audio)

Michelle does a bang up job of proving Matt Drudge’s opinion about her is probably justified. Here are some of the better examples of the High and Mighty Queen Malkin:

We at Hot Air certainly don’t have the resources to look like the slicksters at CNN or the dinosaur networks. We don’t have multi-million dollar sets, graphics, and wardrobes like Katie Couric. We put substance first over bells and whistles. (You would think someone with a website design circa 1980 might appreciate our priorities.)

Real classy way to take the moral high ground and raise the bar of political discourse my lady. Of course Michelle can’t miss a chance to throw a conservative under the bus that she sees as a threat to the ascent to her perceived throne (remember Ann Coulter and me.)

And now back to Michelle Malkin’s classy quotes:

What’s it to you, Matt, if we bring our little “banana” microphones and cameras to Baghdad or CPAC or the Doolittle Raiders reunion or the local illegal alien hangout or the Gathering of Eagles (which barely rated a blip on the almighty Drudge radar screen)? What’s it to you if authors find it worth their time to sit down with us for Internet broadcast interviews? Why does it bother you so? What’s it to you, Matt…

The only person that seems to think they are almighty in this disagreement is Queen Malkin herself. Maybe it’s time someone asks MM her own question, “Why does it bother you so?” Michelle you obviously think Drudge is a has been and you are hot stuff. I applaud what Malkin has done for the right side, however once again she is wrong.

Not being one to adhere to the MM Hot Air group think looks like Matt Drudge hit the nail on the head with this one. Michelle this post comes across like a how dare you talk about the mighty Malkin screed. Matt is just saying what many of us that used to respect you are thinking. These days you seem to take pleasure in throwing fellow conservatives under the bus (like Ann Coulter) and accusing fellow conservatives of “ginned up publicity” (like me). As another example you just did it to Drudge.

You might not like what Drudge said about you, did you try to talk to him about it first before you unloaded your keyboard? I’m sure he would give you some time on his radio show to ask him what his beef is. I sent you many emails before you trashed me and a few after you trashed me and you had no response.

Michelle in my opinion you have a higher than thou attitude and it is good to see someone standing up to you and telling it like it really is. Many conservatives follow you and think of you as a leader, but to me it seems you would rather us kneel at the altar of Michelle than to stand beside you as equals. Yes you have achieved a lot for conservatives on the internet and for that I applaud you. Lately you seem to take pleasure in attacking anyone that stands in the way of the ascent to your perceived throne.

I’ll stand beside Matt Drudge, while your peasants knell before you.

Will Michelle respond? She’ll probably just call me a publicity ginner-upper.

It seems Michelle, who spewed venom towards Ann Coulter after her CPAC speech, likes to be the criticizer rather than the criticize-e. Let’s hear from Drudge: (link)

Update #4: Michelle Malkin and Byran from Hot Air threw the first punches in the Malkin vs. Drudge show down, you can find their first round of Drudge dissing here and here. Interesting how Michelle feigns victim status when she is the one that called me and Drudge “The conservative outing mob.”

Update #5: Many of the comments over at Hot Air are advancing some fantasy that Drudge is picking on poor little Michelle because his site traffic is some how being encroached on by Malkin. Let’s explore that little gem. Below is a chart from Alexa.com that shows that this is just a self deluding fantasy on the Drudge denouncers.

That means that since she has that status, she is totally and completely infallible and is never to be questioned, in fact she is to be given whatever she wants. You missed something ShadowFox Michelle started this with Drudge quite a while ago. Drudge did not use my name but did use the name of my website. Michelle made a point of calling me and Drudge “The conservative outing mob.”

Good to see I’m not the only one with similar opinions about hotair. It is a little sad to see Bryan being used as a tool. His spouse is from Japan and he is supporting the person who admitted much of her source material for the “Defense of Internment” was not credible, making the book a lie. His kids will have many interesting questions when they become teens and as they explore their heritage and the injustice of the internment. “Daddy how could you work for her?”

This whole Michelle/Ann/Drudge thing reminds me of the Deborah Norville-Jane Pauley fight for the Today Show about 15 years ago. The younger, more vivacious Norville edged out Pauley, the veteran. Looks like a similar approach in regards to malkin-coulter.

I am already married guys, and I have a great long term memory, it’s the short term one that gives me problems every so often, LOL. My husband will tell you that too!

Best wishes to y’all. FWIW, I think Matt may be getting a little revenge on her for what she did to Ann Coulter (I heard, because I don’t read Malkin anymore) , because Matt and Ann are good friends, supposedly. Just my theory.

Thank goodness there actually is somebody out there in the blogosphere that actually agrees with Matt Drudge in his crude yet unrelentlessly truthfull remarks against Michelle Malkin —– especially the part at the start of his rant where he noted that you could get away with the F.C.C. when you go on Hot Air’s little show. That is what he meant. He meant that Hot Air and so many other blogs, while they may strive for their perfections and guests, are just a pit of standards and ethics that news organizations, whether biased or clear hold true — especially when it comes to lawsuits. The blogosphere does not have to worry about lawsuits as much. They get free speech automatic protections while the news/broadcasting outlets themselves get liable for slander, defamation, and historical vandilization.

These blogs are too opinnion based. No wonder an honorable man like the Drudgemeister would not take them seriously enough to post them as news. They do not get that. Matt Drudge himself did not get that when he started out on his road to fame. He thought that the instant road to success would be to cut the corners and build his own pub of news that he felt was interesting. While that dynamic is still maintained, years later I think that he realized that there is a much more confusing tone to the news. That you have got to have editors, publishers, investigators and lawyers behind him to really press out the truth of each news story to become a better news organization.

I am glad that he called them out for the overachieving underacheivers which they truly are. I am glad that these people have a place to galvanize, but they are not real news sources. A major realization is when I saw this story talking about Tucker Carlson’s movie rental choice. The poor guy returned his movie (Crush) to a Blockbuster clerk who had a blog and that became a thread. There was a privacy-type brouhaha, but that is not the point. The point is that these blogs can get away, to some extent, with posting nonsensical hyperbole. If it is not nonsense, it still may be opinnion laden. Even if it is reserved in opinnion or propaganda it still may not be staffed accordingly. Furthermore — the staff may be fraudulant when they are not institutionalized by deeply held standards.

I learned something today about Drudge. I learned that he does not openly take this Hot Air scam just because the Hot Airers may be of the same party, that he looks at things skeptically, and that he sees the blogosphere as possibly the ‘beast’ (when he said that everybody is “equal”). I have taken the blogosphere the same way for years but this is the first time that it came out as an issue. An important issue for all right wing bloggers.
