Republican revolt for lower gas prices, House Dems turn out the lights (video added)
Democrats want high gas prices. The higher the gas prices the more you will be pissed off. The more you are pissed off the more the Democrats will blame the high gas prices on Bush and the Republican. The dirty little secret Pelosi and her Socialist Democrats will do everything in their power to keep you from figuring out is that they (Democrats) are responsible for the high gas prices.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the Democrats adjourned the House, turned off the lights and killed the microphones, but Republicans are still on the floor talking gas prices.
Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) and other GOP leaders opposed the motion to adjourn the House, arguing that Pelosi’s refusal to schedule a vote allowing offshore drilling is hurting the American economy. They have refused to leave the floor after the adjournment motion passed at 11:23 a.m., and they are busy bashing Pelosi and her fellow Democrats for leaving town for the August recess. (more)
The Dems turned off the lights, killed the microphones, and tried to kick out reports all in an attempt to keep you and the American public from finding out that they are the cause of high gas prices. The Dems have a energy plan: do nothings and block and delay everything to make the problem worse.
Rep. Tom Cole (Okla.), chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, said the dimly lit chamber is a “vision of the future by the Democrat Party: The lights are out, there’s no power, and the air conditioning is gonna go off soon.”
With the C-SPAN cameras turned off House GOP speakers turned to Twitter to get the word out. Pete Hoekstra is twittering too. It wasn’t long before someone grabbed a video camera and uploaded some video of the event.
The House Republicans went on for 5 hours and the revolt ended at 5pm according to Politico.
This is the GOP we have been waiting for. This is the GOP that can fix Washington. Show your support by contacting your Republican Congressional leaders and supporting their efforts to lower gas prices. If you don’t get hung up on call the Dems and voice your displeasure or contempt for their lies and manipulations.

Newt Gingrich
Nice dog & pony show GOP.
Remember when you turned out the lights on Democrats during the Patriot Act debates? Can you say hypocrisy?
No this GOP will not fix Washington. It is the same GOP that broke Washington.
Fact–Off shore drilling will not lower the price of oil. It will only provide Oil corps with more product to send to India & China. They don’t care about the average American, much like the GOP who has enabled them all these years.

Fact off-shore drilling will lower the price of oil. Its called supply and demand, read a damn book on economics. The GOP did not break Washington it was Dems. The GOP is not perfect but 99% of the problems in Washington are caused by Dems, libs, moonbats, and socialists.
Hell you stupid moonbats are such liars you didn’t even use your name on your comment. You’re not Newt Gingrich. Have some balls and if you are going to spout your insane ramblings on my site at least don’t pretend to be someone else.

Nancy Pelosi’s California office is CLOSED. The Washington phone is either constantly busy or off the hook. Nice response, Nanc. Here is the letter I left on her e-mail account:
Honorable Speaker Pelosi,
If you could please tear yourself away from the important job of saving the planet for a couple of days, get off your high horse and onto that big carbon footprint private jet of yours and head back to Washington. Let a vote come to the floor on the off shore drilling ban.
To hell with the planet, Americans need you to do your day job in the House of Representatives.
I don’t want to get a message about my not being one of your constituents; you are third in line to the Presidency and Speaker of the whole House
