Review - HP Multimedia Speakers with Subwoofer PP037AA

If you are on a shoestring budget (like me) and you have been wanting to get a new set of speakers for your desktop or laptop computer HP has a deal for you. The HP Multimedia Speakers with Subwoofer (model#: PP037AA) is the perfect combination of price, value, and quality that you have been looking for.

I went to my favorite Wal-Mart to get batteries for my wireless mouse and my 3 year old son asked if he could get a Hot Wheel (he is a Hot Wheel addict.) Our Wal-Mart has totally redesigned their store and the toy section is now right next to the electronics and computer section so while we were in the neighborhood picking up the Hot Wheel I decided to walk a few aisle over and checkout the computer speakers selection.

I have been down the computer accessory aisle thousands of time and have become very familiar with the price of most of the computer accessories that I would love to buy. When I walked by the computer speaker section I noticed the HP Multimedia Speakers with Subwoofer were on sale for $25. This is the lowest price I have seen for speakers of this quality and as a plus they match my new HP Pavilion dv9235nr Notebook PC perfectly. I decided this was the best time to go ahead and buy these speakers since the price was so low and I figured if I didn’t get them now the next time I came to the store there might not be any left.

When I got home my wife had that, what the hell did you buy and how much did that cost look on her face. This reaction by my wife was not unexpected, I must admit the size of the box and the picture on the box makes it look like you just walked in the door with something that must have cost a lot of money. I whipped out the receipt and showed my wife the great price I had paid for my new toys and she calmed down very quickly.

Her next question was, “Why do you need a new set of speakers!” Ahhh good question sweetie, I’ll show you. With my old crappy speakers still hooked up to my laptop I fired up my iTunes selected one of my favorite Michael Bublé songs and let her listen to a sample pointing out the lack of bass and general crappyness from my old set of speakers.

I quickly unhooked the old speakers and in less than 2 minutes (I’m a professional home audio installer so I can do this really fast :whistle: ) I had the HP Multimedia Speakers with Subwoofer hooked up and playing the same Michael Bublé song. I knew these new speakers were going to kick the crap out of the old set I had, but even I did not realize what an understatement I had made. These new speakers rocked! My wife even said, “Wow, those sound great!” I asked her if she thought the new speakers were worth what I paid for them and she said, “Hell yes, I can’t believe they only cost $25!”

Get them before they are gone!
