Shots fired: Second Civil War Update
Many of my conservative friends laugh at the idea of a Second Civil War. They say things like, “Liberals hate guns! A Second Civil War would last about 5 minutes, 4 minutes of laughing and 1 minute of gun fire.” Although, I am sure Conservatives would win a Second Civil War, Liberals are hateful enough and pissed off enough to start a Second Civil War. Case in point, I am almost 100% positive that it was a Liberal that shot at the Bush/Cheney headquarters in Knoxville and in Huntington.
On August 10, I posted a story Could there be a Second Civil War? In that post, I talked about John Titor, a so-called time traveler from the future that predicted a Second Civil War. Now I do not believe John Titor was a time traveler, but if you study what he said about a Second Civil War, you might be surprised. John Titor predicted that a Second Civil War would start in America around the time of the 2004 Presidential elections.
Michael Novak wrote an article, Passions on high, in that article Michael Novak writes:
Democrats are confident about a victory this year. Maybe they are right. Still, if, as I anticipate, President Bush wins solidly in 2004, many people will be profoundly unhappy. As one wrote, “First we will vote, then if we lose, we will fight.” If such passions win out it could be ugly.
Dennis Prager thinks the Second American civil war has already begun:
The fact is that this country is profoundly divided on virtually every major social, personal and political issue. We are in the midst of the Second American Civil War. Who wins it will determine the nature of this country as much as the winner of the first did.
On September 8, I posted a story about a Kerry heckler that was assaulted. Liberals say how they want peace not war, how tolerant they are of other peoples points of view, how they believe in free speech, but when anyone says something they do not like they snap. Liberals will even rip a sign from the hand of a little girl, because they do not like what the sign says.
I hope I am wrong about a Second Civil War. If you thought Liberals were pissed of about the 2000 presidential election, just wait until November 3rd. I would not be surprised if the Kool-aid drinkers start rioting.

Don’t know about you Bill, but I have ZERO problem FIGHTING for what I believe in (to the death if I have to), but in reading here and commenting back, I would dare say you and I are pretty close to that same idea, so I may see you on the front lines, but God willing, we won’t HAVE to meet there.

I think we are already in the middle of a cultural civil war.
I can’t imagine an actual war, but I suppose few thought the first one would happen either.

This is a serious question so please treat it as such: Are you warning us of a civil war or are you hoping for one? Your post could go either way from my reading of it;I would find it helpful if you could clarify your position.

And a follow -up question: If indeed we are headed down the path of civil war, what do you believe would be necessary to prevent such a catastrophe?

The last paragraph of this post says, “I hope I am wrong about Second Civil War. Why in the hell would I want another civil war? I am warning America that if we do not learn to work together, then I believe there will be a Second Civil War. The way to stop a Second Civil War is if Liberals stop the lying, stop the personnel destruction, get behind America, help America win the War on TERRORISM, and stop spreading hate for their political gain. Liberals only care about winning the White House anyway, they can. Liberals will lie, cheat, steal, intimidate, and degrade the country that protects their right to be so stupid. Liberals will help the enemies of America if they think they can win back the White House by doing it. When Democrats lost the 2000 election, they started a TV show The West Wing so they could pretend that there was a Democrat in the White House. Liberals live in a fantasy world that they will do anything to make true, but liberal fantasy is not reality.

Okay, that’s a very passionate reply. How do you propose to work together with liberals when you address them as stupid, treasonous, etc.? I’m asking for a realistic answer, not a tirade. I have no stake either way in the outcome of your answer-I am curious. If I addressed you as stupid, treasonous, etc., would you have reservations about “mending fences”, coming together for the common good? Are you willing to compromise with a liberal if a liberal would be willing to compromise with you? Thanks for being honest with your replies thus far.

Liberals are stupid and treasonous. If you addressed me as stupid or treasonous, you would be making a statement on feelings. I do not make decisions on feeling I make decisions on fact and common sense. The fact is I am not stupid (I might not be the best speller in the world) and I have never committed treason against the greatest country in the world, the United States of America. I will not compromise with a liberal because liberals do not mean what they say. Liberals only want conservative to compromise first, then they will not hold up their end of the compromise. What compromise do you speak of? I am always honest with my replies, which is what separates me from a liberal.

How do you propose to undo the great polarization has occurred over the past twenty or so years if you won’t negotiate with anyone who is not on your side? Why do you propose to do with those who don’t think such as yourself. Be realistic, please. How do you persuade, convince, win over to your side, etc., those that don’t share your point of view? I’m curious. I’m not looking for a fight or name-calling; I’m just looking for honest and reasonable answers. Thank you in advance.

I voted for Bill Clinton and thought conservatives were evil, warmongering a-holes before I pulled my head out of my own ass. You cannot pull a liberal’s head out of his/her ass when they put it there and they like the view. It is a waste of time to reason with unreasonable idiots. Let me ask you a question. Are you a liberal? Have I changed your mind or are you just trying to waste my time, when you could figure this all out on your own? I am not trying to piss you off. I just think if you were a conservative you would not need this much explaining on an issue I feel like I have thoroughly covered.

Do you feel I am wasting your time? I find this to be quite an interesting dialogue. I have a great curiosity about many things and ideas. You have a profound conviction and a unique way of expressing that conviction. I don’t believe I have expressed any disapproval or judgment of your viewpoint. I am merely asking questions to better understand your position.
To answer your question…I can see the validity in many opposing views. For instance, I think capitalism works best with minimal government interference and yet the recent carnage at Enron, WorldCom and a few others warrant the necessity of government oversight. Communism on the whole was a disaster for the countries that endured it and yet the PRC (China) has managed to feed all of its people for the first time in centuries and take an agrarian/feudal into a booming industrial power. And at a tremendous cost. Balancing on one hand the ability to feed over one billion people and develop a potentially awesome economy against a starving populace (with a systematic repression of the populace) or a starving population, a backward economic system (with the liberties and freedoms of the West) is very difficult to assess fairly. So one can say with reasonable certainty that communism was a dismal failure worldwide, but that China would probably not be in the position it is today without it.

Not all liberals hate guns, but unfortunately there are to many gun-toting idiots in the south and the midwest that actually believe the Republican owned and run non-liberal media!!

George H. W. Bush was the Head of the CIA before becoming the VP with Ronnie. Creating coup d’etat(s) is what this man did for a living! GHWB orchestrated the Hinckley shooting to try and take the reins then!
GHWB lost to Clinton, and the US propsered again!!
Gore won the popular vote of the American people, and due to a scandal in the state run by the brother of the candidate that benefitted won the election.
For months and months there is news of hundreds of thousands of votes being found after the election, and Gore would have won by an even wider margin!
When the news was becoming saturated with stories of people creating lawsuits to the supreme courts agains the Bush Administration, Guess what the invilible Al Qaeda attack us in NY on 9/11.
Years after we see so much evidence showing that the Bush Administration had totally lied about never fathoming such attack when they were running a drill on the exact scenario that morning…HHHmm….
Unfortunately this November the Bush CIA connections will fix this election as they did in 2000.
The Iraq War will continue because making money is what is important to our Government, and American’s will not benefit from this unless you have stock in Haliburton (the company that the VP was in charge of and has won most of the main contracts in the Iraq War, and they have over-charged America over 60 Billion!! Lovely!)

There might be a Second Civil War, and it will be interesting to live through some very important history in the making.
I am just hoping that whoever wins that America as a whole will be the real winners, not just the 1% of the Elite (Old money like the Kennedy’s, Bush, Rockafeller, Vanderbuilt, etc. — no one that made money in this century, understand that!!)!!!
So I think that you and I might be on different sides of the Second Civil War.

Tracy, I might have read that wrong. But what I think I read stated that you believe a huge conspiracy is underway, one which got Bush the White House, and that 9/11 was used for that purpose. If that is in fact what you do believe, than you are crazy. Go back to watching the X-Files, there is no place for you in the real world.
Bill, you are losing it here. There are plenty of patriotic liberals, the problem is that you are confusing leftists and liberals. They are different. Leftists pretty much fit the description you have provided. They love the UN more than the US, their intentions are detrimental to our safety, etc. Liberals are not necessarily that way. To assume the worst of all of them is to commit a mistake they make all the time, to think you understand the opposition.
And there are plenty on the right who would constitute a “Threat” from creating another civil war. Various militia groups, radical religious groups, the likes. Both extremes are dangerous.
