I have been blogging since early August of 2004, when I was working for a retail electric provider here in Texas on the midnight shift. Well, surprise surprise, in early October of that same year, I was laid off. This presented both hardship and opportunity as I had already paid the rent and bills for October, and did not have any rent obligation for November, nor had I signed a renewal of my lease. I decided to lay out a few weeks and get involved in the political scene. I traveled to the Longview/Tyler area of Texas, and walked precincts for Louie Gohmert. Not only did Louie win his election, but we also delivered many votes for President Bush as well, not to mention that Louie unseated an incumbent Democrat, which being an incumbent is enough, but in that area, the GOP just doesn’t win, but we busted our rumps, and did it.

Well, after that, I was hooked on politics, and my blog became more than just a place for me to rant. I started watching all of the political shows, listening to all of the radio stuff, and reading everything I could get my hands on. Not too long after I started blogging, I found Bill’s site, as well as the rest of the Wide Awakes crew and I was asked to join their little crew, as was Bill (when W.A.R. started up). Like Bill, I’m really not sure when I started blogging here at PA, but it’s a safe bet that both he and I have been contributing at each other’s blog for almost as long as the blog has been up.

I began looking at class schedules along with the job hunt, and my parents offered me the chance to move in with them (rent free) while I went back to school. Well, nearly 3 years later, and I’m still doing it. I am now at the four year university level, and very close to graduating. After graduation I am going to law school, and who knows, you may just see a “Smokey for President” link on my blog one day, who knows.
