Student Suspended For Piercing

Kati Monahan is lying, he did do something wrong, he broke the rules. If you read further into the story, you will find out “Corey did remove his piercings on the first day of school, but felt as if he needed to take a stand, and returned the next day with his piercings in place, that’s when he was suspended.” Felt like he needed to make a stand? More like wanted to give the school a reason to suspend him so his mom could sue the school and maybe win a big settlement.
What in the hell is wrong with Kati Monahan? I will bet she is voting for Kerry this year, if she even cares enough to vote. Corey and Kati moved from Fort Meade, Maryland to the Atlanta area so Corey could go to a better school. Why do you think it is a better school? Probably because they do not allow attention whore students like Corey to disrupt the academic environment by shoving metal through every part of their face. What kind of a mother would allow her son to poke holes in his face and call that freedom of speech? I am guessing, but I bet Kati Monahan is a single mother. One more reason to support two parent families. (read the original news story…)
I found this post on the FreeAdvice Forums, this just about sums up my position on piercings:
If the only jobs you ever expect to get in life include the phrase, “Would you like fries with your order”, then go right ahead and keep your piercing.
However, I would never hire you –and I wouldn’t care how good you were at your job. I have clients to think about, and it’s my clients that pay me!
You see, as long as your adamant, you’ll never get a good paying job, and I’m one less employer that you’d be employed by. So, keep your piercings, and I’ll take cheese on my burger, please.

*Update (9/24 11:50AM): Corey (the pierced face freak) is on Fox News right now. He said he has add his ears pierced since HE WAS THREE! They need to arrest the mother.

When was the last time any of you people went into a restaurant and sat down to eat and noticed that the cheese on your food was molded our the lettuce was horribly wilted and you ate it anyway? When was the last time you went into a public restroom that had feces floating on the floor and wasn’t bothered by it? What makes Martha Stewart table decorations different from Chucky Cheeses? Presentation. Say it with me people, presentation. This parallels the story of the lady that quit (not fired) her job because she had a Kerry/Edwards sticker on her car (see recent archived stories on this site). Pay close attention here; this is America and you have the right to your ‘freedoms’ but I, the consumer, have the right to take my business to somebody that does not look like a fucking reject and if ‘the business’ wants my business they will seek professional looking employees to fill those positions and you can take your pierced eyeball and get a job as a telemarketer (at least people don’t have to look at you).

To judge someone on apperance is to limit your own life experience - but then again I forgot- you are in United States of America - the home of the free and the land of the brave!!! (ho hum!) If this issue was actually because he wanted an education I would side for him. Unfortunately if they check his school records they would find out that he did not attend school when he was in Maryland and that his mother has been committed and has an extensive police record. She is also notorious for running scams. It is my opinion she knew the policy of the school before she moved there and is just trying to get rich quick. But for those who truly just like to express themselves in this way, I see no reason why they shouldn’t be able to. In the same notion they can do this outside of school. Unfortunately if we become a society without rules we become a society full of terrorists and fear.

The liberal weighs in: He knowingly broke school rules. He deserves to be suspended. I hope her case gets thrown out of court and that she gets fined for filing a frivolous lawsuit.
As for the right to pierce: I wouldn’t call anyone an idiot, but I agree that they need to think about the repurcussions of a facial piercing. It’s just like dressing well or combing your hair or anything else.
And FYI, I only have my ears pierced. And no tattoos.

I agree with Liberal Poor_Statue. Did you every tell me whether you were single or are you hitched? I like women with no odd piercing and I don’t like tattoos on women. lol
