The Half Hour News Hour Promo
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to produce a Daily Show for conservatives. Well I don’t have to wonder anymore. The Half Hour News Hour premieres Sunday 10pm/1am ET on Fox News. Here is the promo:
Here is a clip of Joel Surnow’s “The 1/2 Hour News Hour” talking about the sweetheart of the left Barack Obama.
It won’t be long before Libtards start putting up websites calling this show Nazi propaganda. I’m sure moonbats will demand that The 1/2 Hour News Hour be taken off the air for some made up hate crime. The ACLU will be busy inventing parts of the constitution to use to take this show off the air. I might have to get cable again just so I can watch The 1/2 Hour News Hour and Glenn Beck.

Mike, you ever hear the bit he did from back when he was in Sacremento? The one with the supposed recording of a record being played backwards? It was can’t breath funny, but he’s only replayed it once that I’ve heard. As for the current stuff my favorite is tied between Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd sing “The Byrd”.

I am conservative, but I’ll be damned if this show lasts beyond 3 episodes. I understand that some conservatives wish there was some sort of equivalent version of the Daily Show (Which is funny. Consistently funny. Even if it has a democrat-tilt), but can you not see that this show is really mediocre? And uses canned laughter and racist humor??? I’ll never rely on Joel Surnow or a billionaire septuagenarian Australian man to make me laugh at conservative jokes

KTS, please don’t pretend to be a conservative. Real conservatives don’t play the race card. The Daily Show is about as funny as watching a libtard pretend to be a conservative. Isn’t there an idiot that does that? Oh yeah Colbert. :getlost:

I don’t know how to prove to you that I’m conservative. I’m a young, registered Republican hailing from Westchester County, NY. I’m a college student at a small Massachusetts private college. I’m surrounded by liberals at school, and at home, but I get along with most people just fine. I’ve proudly interned with the Conservative think-tank Independent Women’s Forum just this past winter, and I regularly engage in political discussion with friends. I proudly identify myself as a conservative. So it is with great indignation that I take your comment that I am “pretending” to be a conservative.
I made my comment about the clip because although I, like many true conservatives, know that there is a wealth of untapped humor lying within the Democratic party of this country, I do not think this show looks to be well written at all, and it is a pathetic attempt to “one-up” TDS. This is an apolitical stance in which I criticize the show, from what I can discern of the 2 minute clip I have seen.
I simply think the humor does not put legitimate conservative satire/wit, a la Byron York, Mark Steyn, Rob Long, and P.J. O’Rourke of National Review, Colin Quinn of SNL (who had his own conservative show which used to air AFTER the Daily Show for a few years called Tough Crowd) or even that latent-conservative and ever-so-biting Dennis Miller on a good display.
Instead, the show employs cheap pot shots that Late Night talk-show hosts might throw into their monologues on a slow news day. “Oh, haha, BO, get it, like Body Odor!?? That’s rich!”. It’s just not good material. Plain and Simple. And the so-called anchors are both paid actors (Kurt Long and Susan Yeagley), not true-to-self comedians like Stewart, who speak their own opinions in a comedic format. You can even see them reading the teleprompters if you watch it carefully. Don’t defend the show just because you hope for a conservative version of Daily Show

Also, does it not strike you as odd that a show which bills itself as primarily a comedic format will air a News Network? Even shows which gray the line between information and entertainment, such as Mad Money and Countdown with Keith Olbermann do not require comedy writers to be entertaining. Their entertainment rests on the personality of the host, not the content, i.e. the pre-written humor, itself.
If this show were legitimately funny, FOX would air it on its main network, not a NEWS channel! That does not seem to be the case.
FYI. Brian Unger, though not pictured in the clip, is also a faux-correspondent on the show, and he previously worked at the Daily Show in its early days. Just an interesting tidbit
