Wild Bill’s Quick And Easy Fish Taco Recipe

Getting the family to eat fish can be a real challenge. Believe me I know. So when I made fish tacos for the first time, it came as no surprise when I got the, “I’m not eating that” look.
After a little coaxing and a, “come on just give it a try” my sons ate their first fish taco. I didn’t have to ask if they wanted seconds and I almost had to go back to the store to get the stuff to make another batch. If you are searching for a new quick and easy way to add fish to your family’s dinner table, then I think you’ll love my fish taco recipe.
Wild Bill’s Quick And Easy Fish Tacos
*cooking and prep time: 20mins
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Box of fish tenders (I use Gorton’s Beer Batter Tenders) — you can batter and fry your own fish, but this is supposed to be quick and easy.
- White corn tortillas
- 1 head of cabbage
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 of a lime — to my knowledge no one sells only half a lime so you’ll have to get one whole lime. You can use the other half to sneak up behind your kids and rub it on their mouths.
- grated cheese — I prefer pepper jack, but the rest of the family likes regular cheddar. You can have goat cheese if that is your kind of thing.
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- a jar/bottle of your favorite salsa
Let’s make fish tacos
- Bake the fish tenders in the over per the directions on the box.
- While the fish is cooking make the yogurt sauce. In a large mixing bowl add, 1/2 cup plain yogurt, 1/2 cup mayonnaise, juice from 1/2 a lime, 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, and 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper. Stir until all ingredients are mixed well.
- Finely shred the cabbage.
- You can heat the white corn tortillas in a non stick skillet on the stove top or serve them right out of the package. I like my tortillas heated, but if you are in a real hurry don’t worry about heating them.
When the fish tenders are finished baking, assemble your fish tacos. Put a fish tender on a white corn tortilla, add some shredded cabbage, sprinkle with cheese, spoon some of the white yogurt sauce on top, and add some of your favorite salsa.
There you have it, in about 20 minutes you can be chowing down on some of Wild Bill’s quick and easy fish tacos. A nice cold beer makes them even better. Now if someone would just buy me a beer.

We first ate something simular to this at Don Poablo’s only they made it with grilled tuna. we make it at home with packaged not canned tuna and grill it on a flat grill with the other half of the lime squeezed on it. Its good!!!
